Barack Obama Plays the Race Card -
By Mark Whittington
When Barack Obama started his long quest for the White House, he
presented himself as a post racial candidate, as a man who
transcended race, unlike previous African American Presidential
candidates such as Jesse Jackson. This made his candidacy
compelling to many. Toward the end of burnishing his credentials as
a post racial candidate and as an agent of racial healing, Barack
Obama made a speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, last March in
which he not only acknowledged the pain and fears of all races, but
called for racial reconciliation and working together for a common
purpose. This was the Barack Obama that caused many, especially
young people, to rally to his cause and to make him the presumptive
Democratic nominee for President...
While Diplomats Dither, Iran Builds Nukes
By John R. Bolton
This weekend, yet another "deadline" passed for Iran to indicate it
was seriously ready to discuss ending its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Like so many other deadlines during these five years of
European-led negotiations, this one died quietly, with Brussels
diplomats saying that no one seriously expected any real work on a
Saturday. The fact that the Europeans are right -- this latest
deadline is not fundamentally big news -- is precisely the problem
with their negotiations, and the Bush administration's acquiescence
in that effort. The rationality of continued Western negotiations with
Iran depends critically on two assumptions: that Iran is far enough
away from having deliverable nuclear weapons that we don't incur
excessive risks by talking...
Young Obama's Red Mentor
By Investor's Business Daily
As noted in the July 29 curtain-raiser to this series, the seeds of
Obama's far-left ideology were planted in his formative years as a
teenager growing up in Hawaii — and they were far more radical
than any biography or media profile has portrayed.
A careful reading of Obama's first memoir, "Dreams From My
Father," reveals that his childhood mentor up to the age of 18 — a
man he refers to only as "Frank" — was none other than the late
communist Frank Marshall Davis, who fled Chicago after the FBI and
Congress opened investigations into his "subversive," "un-American
activities." In a belated story on the relationship, the Associated
Press describes Davis as "left-leaning."...
Obama Supports Global Tax From United
Nations
by Christine O'Donnell
For an entire week, Americans watched as Senator Barack Obama
took his act on the road, courting the European elitists and
cowtowing to an endless array of foreign politicians. At this point it
may be easy to take Obama’s “celebri-plomacy” lightly. Yet, his trip
highlights a dangerous threat to America’s national sovereignty in
the form of his globalist policies that will diminish America’s role in
the world and outsource decisions of vital national interest to the
United Nations. His Global Poverty Act, currently under
consideration in Congress, is just one such policy...
NightMare on Dem Street
by Jonah Goldberg
For months now people have been saying to me, "Do you really
think they're gone?" "Is it finally over?" "Is the coast clear?" The
questions have been in response to Barack Obama's supposedly
yeoman service in putting an end to the Clintons in public life. My
response to those who believe our long national nightmare is over
has always been: "Have you seen no monster movies?" Freddy
Krueger always comes back. Jason re-emerges from the pond one
more time. Dracula had so many comebacks, nobody was surprised
to see him hanging with Abbott and Costello. Of course the Clintons
will be back. f the monster-movie thing is too offensive for you
Clinton voluptuaries out there, think of it like this: They're like
Richard Gere in "An Officer and a Gentleman" (who, coincidentally,
is hounded by a charismatic black dude but never gives up).
They've got no place else to go. And I was right. The Clintons are
back. The coffin lid has sprung open, the seal of the crypt has been
broken, the mutant virus has escaped the lab....
Thank a Politician
By Rich Carroll
Thank a politician for weakening America by making "water boards"
big global news. If we have a captured Al Qaeda terrorist who
knows the whereabouts of a nuclear warhead hidden inside the
United States set to go-off and kill a million citizens, any politician
who wouldn't authorize "water boarding" or any other method to
find the location of this bomb should be shot for treason. Your
number one priority is to protect and defend the citizens of the
United States. STOP being squealing cowards on national news.
Thank a politician that our porous borders allow not only illegal
Mexicans to run-amok killing Americans and stealing our hard
earned tax dollars, but allowing Al Qaeda the unobstructed freedom
to walk in with any of several forms of WMD. Your ignorance and
shear lack of concern for American families simply astounds me (and
those who walk in). Thank a politician for spending hundreds of
billions of dollars on frivolous PORK projects while our schools and
national infra-structure crumble...

Hillary Clinton's best anti-Obama ad came to be known as the "3
a.m. phone call." It stoked voter worries that in the event of an
international crisis, the first-term junior senator from Illinois might
be out of his depth. On Aug. 8, the White House phone did ring,
alerting President Bush that the Soviet Union, um, that is, Russia,
had just sent columns of tanks and armored personnel carriers
across the internationally recognized border of Georgia (formerly
the Soviet Socialist Republic of Georgia), a tiny, democratic,
America-friendly, Western-leaning country in the Caucasus
mountains. It was a near perfect laboratory test -- the sort that
real life rarely provides until it's too late -- for how the two
nominees for president would respond...
